In this episode we are still in lockdown in the UK so no car chats but instead I am joined by my good friend John Hayes to talk about his experiences with Mental Health and for him to share his passion with us.
John is a member of the Portugal Pie Eaters, a group of guys who cycle across Portugal to raise money for charity. John documented his many trips in his latest book “Follow The Blue Line – Cycling The Algarve”
John shares stories from his past and how cycling for him has had a great impact on his mental health. We then talk about how our annual cycling challenges have inadvertently had the perfect recipe for a great mental health experience, albeit a tough physical health challenge.
Camaraderie, resilience and a common goal are all huge factors which have a positive impact as you will hear about in this podcast.

The concept for “Let’s Talk Mental Health” is quite straight forward. To chat with my guest in a neutral comfortable environment where we can be open and honest about mental health issues and talk about our own experiences.
Men need to talk more about Mental Health and this series is looking to address that by showcasing what others have been through and highlighting that vulnerability is a strength.
