In this episode I am joined by the wonderful John Eli who is a virtual mindset coach who helps others men navigate their own behaviours and blocks that are keeping them stuck in patterns which don’t serve them.
John starts off by telling us about what his life was like growing up and how traumatic experiences through childhood deeply affected his ability to relate to male figures in his life.
Furthermore how the assumed identity of not just an American man, but also a Latino and also a man of the Church had placed all of these identity expectations on him which caused more harm to he he truly was as a person.
After reaching rock bottom and utilising unhealthy coping mechanisms he hit the point where he knew he had to turn his life around which is exactly what he has done.
Now dedicating his life to education and research around Psychology and Mental Health which allows him to coach men through the same struggles that John once faced.
John truly is an inspirational man and as you will see in this podcast is one of those people dedicated to his purpose and being of service.

The concept for “Let’s Talk Mental Health” is quite straight forward. To chat with my guest in a neutral comfortable environment where we can be open and honest about mental health issues and talk about our own experiences.
Men need to talk more about Mental Health and this series is looking to address that by showcasing what others have been through and highlighting that vulnerability is a strength.
