In episode 47 of the Let’s Talk Mental Health Podcast I am joined by Dave from UnOpened Male.
Dave is a fellow mental health advocate who has had his fair share of experiences with metal health experiences and childhood trauma, and after years of doing his best to cope, he now wants to start sharing his story and experiences with others to help them get through similar struggles.
In this conversation we talk about a number of different subject from being seen as a sensitive boy and the identity that brings with it around masculinity, to a particularly harsh experience he had with a headteacher publicly shaming him in front of his peers.
Dave brings an incredible honesty and vulnerability to the conversation and is now using his voice to bring more awareness to the sort of experiences he had.

The concept for “Let’s Talk Mental Health” is quite straight forward. To chat with my guest in a neutral comfortable environment where we can be open and honest about mental health issues and talk about our own experiences.
Men need to talk more about Mental Health and this series is looking to address that by showcasing what others have been through and highlighting that vulnerability is a strength.
