For episode 39 I am joined by the inspiring Michael Bowie. Michael is a trauma informed wellness write, speaker and coach, and after going through his own battles is now connected with his purpose to help others get through their struggles too.
In this chat Michael takes us way back to his childhood and to where some early trauma experiences came from and how they affected him personally and emotionally growing up.
He shares with us how these traumas then led him into an addiction with drugs which took over a large part of his life and set him on a sever downward trajectory.
Things got so bad for Michael that he was told by his doctor that he would have to take antidepressants for the rest of his life, after a failed attempt at coming off them.
Fast forward to today and Michael is no longer relying on pharmaceuticals to stay emotionally regulated, he has done a lot of the healing work to resolve those early childhood traumas and create new wellness habits and structures that ensure his emotional and mental optimisation. I’m sure you will find Michael’s story inspiring.

The concept for “Let’s Talk Mental Health” is quite straight forward. To chat with my guest in a neutral comfortable environment where we can be open and honest about mental health issues and talk about our own experiences.
Men need to talk more about Mental Health and this series is looking to address that by showcasing what others have been through and highlighting that vulnerability is a strength.
