Today I am joined by the incredible Dr David Purves. Together we cover many topics surrounding mental health including CBT, antidepressants and the role that memories play in mental health diagnoses.
Dr Purves was previously Course Director for the London Metropolitan University Doctorate program in Counselling Psychology. He was formally Head of the Berkshire NHS Traumatic Stress Service, based in Reading and he is now principle and Clinical Director of the Berkshire Psychology Service.
Right now his passion is empowering people to take back control and ‘stop outsourcing’ their mental health. In order to do that he has built numerous tools and programs that we dive into in this episode which he is calling Self Help CBT.
Dr Purves is a true expert in the field of Psychology and you can find out more about him, and his work using the links below.

The concept for “Let’s Talk Mental Health” is quite straight forward. To chat with my guest in a neutral comfortable environment where we can be open and honest about mental health issues and talk about our own experiences.
Men need to talk more about Mental Health and this series is looking to address that by showcasing what others have been through and highlighting that vulnerability is a strength.
